I was hoping I could get some help. I have never fished Old Hickory, I was wanting
to fish around the steam plant. What's the safest and best ramp to use? Looking
at the map it would be Flippers. Do the bass hang out in the steam plant area?
Not looking for anyones honey hole.

Flippers is a short run to steam plant. It's very tricky getting to the canal from the main river channel. You can easily run aground. If you have good mapping on your electronics then u should be fine. The steam plant is absolutely full of bass. Last 2 trips in there I've caught at least 40 combined. And that's just killing time waiting on the stripers to get active. At least half my time was spent at the barrier fishing for stripers. There is a lot of current in there. For bass, Focus on areas that are out of the current, or little parts of the bank that are taking a direct head on impact from the current. Most are dinks but its a lot of fun. My main baits for bass in there are a spinnerbait, crankbait, and Texas rigged double tail grub. GL, as you are apt to catch anything in there. A-rigs are good for a mess of white bass in there anytime
