I've been fishing the Caney hard this past week and have been blessed with some good fishing. numbers have been low but I've caught several big fish which makes it worth it. I'm off to the Little Red for the rest of the summer on Sunday which is the reason I rarely post. The brown in the video was caught yesterday at Lancaster and I saw another brown that was well over 30 inches, I guess I'll have to return to try for 30+ incher. There are a lot of BIG fish in the Caney :)

Nice fish! Were you using the trout magnet rod and a stradic? I get nervous when I swipe at big fish with the net I've hit my line before and freed them lol... Sweet brown!

I was using the 9ft trinity rod and a Shimano saros reel. I'm very grateful that he didn't come off in the first attempt to net him.

Awesome fish!! If all goes as planned I'll be making a trip to fish the Caney at night this weekend.

I haven't fished it much over the years but really enjoy it when I do. About 4 years ago I was wading a bit after sunset and caught a 22" brown, that's my personal best and I really want to get that coveted keeper size 24" fish!

Were you fishing under a float or twitching?

I tie a double uni. Never had an issue. If my line breaks it's at the hook, not the leader.

We go through this knot thing every year. Before everyone puts their ideal knot down again just do a forum search and you will find all the knots you ever wanted to know about....or not.

Folks it seems that either not many people are aware of the forum search or they don't know where it is ....

Look up in the right top corner of any page ... You will see a google search ... The web or fishing tn.. Click The fishing TN Dot .... And type in the subject that you are looking for ... There is 17 years of knowledge that is stored there which can be found on about any subject that has been brought up on this site ... <'TK><:)
